What we do

The BirdTsang studio was born 4 years ago out of love for craftsmanship, culinary arts and design. The Bird Tsang studio creates bespoke ceramic tableware that compliment and heighten the dining experience through distinct and durable designs. Both Robin, Johannes as well as Josiah have all been educated at the Ceramics Department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Arts in Amsterdam.

Seeing both our professional background as chefs, along with our education in art & design, we offer a deeper understanding and alternative process in the industry. Our aim is aiding chefs in presenting their creations on unique tableware which emphasises and enriches a dish to its fullest. We’ve been extremely lucky to work together with some amazing chefs both in The Netherlands and internationally.

What we do

Our purpose and focus over the past few years has been to collaborate with innovative chefs and restaurants through the design and production of our tableware. Through an initial introductory meeting we gain a better understanding of your business and your ideas. By mapping the fundamental plans and concepts we can then properly gage our role as designers of your custom made products. These ideas are then distilled into a range of prototypes after providing our client with a clear estimation, budget and time line. Only after our client signing off do we proceed to the production of the work. Cultivating long standing relationships with our chefs and restaurateurs allows us to build a distinct style to represent their vision.
